Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at hello@btboc.org if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Beating the Bounds of Chailey is an annual community event in aid of charity.

Each team must have at least 10 members to be able to take part in BtBoC.

There is no minimum or maximum age to join a team and take part. However if you are under 16 years of age you must be accompanied by an adult. So if a team has 9 adults and 1 under 16 year old, then you will need to add another adult to accompany the under 16 year old.

Each team will need to provide their own sports/outdoor-wear including footwear. Plus a number of additional items, including:

  • a road bike
  • 2x lifejackets
  • 1x canoe or stand-up paddle board
  • 1x wheel barrow
  • 1x dog

BtBoC is split into two halves. One first half in the morning, a lunchtime break, followed by the second half in the afternoon. We anticipate each half will take no longer than two hours to complete.

BtBoC.org will have full event insurance to cover the organisation and the running of the event. However, as the event takes place on a mix of public roads and a mix of private and public land. Plus potentially two water based sections each team/individual will be taking part at their own risk. Prior to the start of the race, we will ask all participants to sign a waiver.
